The official image film for the Pontonier Sportverein Luzern, made to bring in new members and show every side of the club, from hand-powered Weidling boats on the river to motorboats on the lake. Kevin Waser and I developed the concept and storyboard together. I directed the shoot and did the entire edit.

Key Decisions
One day, two waters
We had a single shoot day: the river in the morning for the Weidling boats, the lake in the afternoon for the motorboats. The hardest part wasn't the light or the boats. It was the people: finding members willing to take part, a date that worked for everyone, and keeping the same faces in the shots that belong together. Because the Pontoniers are tied to the Swiss military, every boat scene also had to follow its rules.

Directing, not filming
Kevin ran the camera and gimbal, and an action camera mounted on a hat caught the POV shots. My job on set was to direct: which shot, from where, with whom, and what we still needed. When the edit showed gaps in the intro, I went back alone to film the missing shots.
Push off
About 20 seconds in, the film cuts to its first POV shot as the crew pushes off from the shore on the command "Breit." I placed it as the turn from introduction into action. It shows how drilled the sport is and how fast it moves, and it launches the first action sequence.

Outcome
The club loved it. I see everything I'd do differently, starting with cleaning up the audio in Audition instead of doing it all in Premiere. That gap taught me something: a client judges a film by whether it feels like them, and this one does.
