DRIVEN.

Graphic Design

Poster series · Personal brand · 2026

DRIVEN. is the mark I put on work that goes beyond photography into design. The dot in the wordmark takes the colour of each piece. Every image starts in Forza Horizon, where I spec the car, choose the spot and capture it in photo mode. From there it goes through Lightroom and Photoshop into a finished poster. Three sets so far: the JDM series, the GT-R series and a pixel-stretch set.

Source Note: Car imagery captured by me in Forza Horizon 5 and 6. The characters in the JDM series were generated with AI and composited into my shots, and the long-form text and Japanese type were written or translated with AI. Layout, typography, composition and colour are my own.

Key Decisions

One system, seven cars

The JDM series runs on a fixed template: a numbered masthead, the model code oversized behind the car, a spec table, and one colour per car that even the DRIVEN. dot picks up. Each car is spec'd in the game to suit its driver, and each character is described to the AI from the car's personality, not the other way round. The hardest part was the background details: drift lines for the S13 and a chequered flag for the Civic came easily, others took much longer.

Same tunnel, three generations

For the GT-R series, the only things allowed to change were the car and the colour. So I drove the R32, R34 and R35 through the same stretch of tunnel and paused photo mode at the exact same moment each time, until all three shots matched. The layout was simple on purpose. The consistency had to happen in the shots.

Choosing the stretch

Pixel stretching was trending online, and I wanted to see what I could do with it. The effect takes one row of pixels and pulls it across the frame, and everything depends on which row you choose: too many colours and the stretch turns chaotic instead of flowing, too few and it looks flat. Every image in the set started with finding that one line on the car, then shaping the stretch around it.

Outcome

Posted as reels, the pixel-stretch set reached 3,859 views and the GT-R series 2,242. Looking back, I see plenty to improve, from cleaner cut-outs around the cars to tighter colour grading. One pixel-stretch image didn't meet my own bar, so it isn't here.
